Scaling up clean technologies in Europe is a challenge, but cities hold the key. As hubs of talent, innovation, and investment, cities will play a vital role in delivering the Clean Industrial Deal by fostering sustainable economic ecosystems and driving demand for clean technologies. Through strategic public procurement, infrastructure development, and public-private partnerships, cities can accelerate industrial decarbonisation while boosting competitiveness.

On 28 May 2025, EU mayors and industry leaders will come together in Copenhagen to shape the next phase of Europe’s industrial transition. This dialogue will highlight how cities can leverage local resources, innovation, and market influence to turn sustainability ambitions into action, positioning them at the heart of the Clean Industrial Deal.
