CO-LEARNING workshops

Identify what works and how to transfer it

The co-learning workshops will provide participants with a unique opportunity to glean insights from recent pilots of innovative approaches to affordable and social housing challenges in urban settings. The format will be highly interactive, emphasizing collaborative learning among attendees. Each of the four workshops will delve deeply into a specific case study highlighting innovative regulations, measures, and policies aimed at tackling the housing crisis from various perspectives. After presenting each case study, participants will engage in discussions to extract key lessons and explore how these insights can be adapted and applied to address similar challenges in different urban contexts. These workshops aim to foster knowledge exchange, inspire new ideas, and catalyse effective strategies for advancing affordable and social housing agendas across cities.

Study visits
  • Study Visit 1: Beeozanam – Community hub open to citizen participation in its use and management through the co-production of cultural, educational, and community activities. It will soon host a social housing within its spaces.        
  • Study Visit 2: Luoghi Comuni San Salvario – Temporary residences with the aim to offer solutions for people in economic or social difficulty. The project includes communal spaces for residents, as well as community events for both neighbourhood and citizens.      
  • Study Visit 3: Torino Solidale che Accoglie – The project includes residential and socio-healthcare services for the most vulnerable population groups. Eligible residents can participate in professional training programme for future reemployment opportunities as well as benefit from free healthcare services.

Co-creation workshop (1st phase)

Participants will work together in three parallel workshops to co-design possible solutions to real cases of complex social challenges in cities. Each city challenge will be presented, discussed and explored through situation-based group work. By the end of this phase, participants will formulate actionable solutions to address the given city challenge.
