Venues

- Hotel de Ville (City Hall)

The entrance is located at 9 rue Brûlée, next to Place Broglie, in the heart of Strasbourg. This splendid 18th-century building hosted key events of the foundation of Europe such as the first meeting of the ministers’ committee of the Council of Europe in August 1949, resulting in the creation of the first European institution. You will be welcomed in this historical landmark for lunch (at 12:00) and the Mayors' working meeting (at 14:00) on 21 October.

- European Parliament

Inaugurated in 1999 by French President Jacques Chirac, the European Parliament seats in Strasbourg since 1977, when the Council of Europe welcomed the Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) at the Palace of Europe. For more than twenty years now, the distinctive glass-clad building hosts the monthly plenary sessions of our elected MEPs and represents an architectural landmark for the city. You will be welcomed at 1 Avenue du Président Robert Schuman from 8:00 on 22 October for a meeting with the newly elected MEPs.

- Salle de l’Aubette

Located in the heart of Strasbourg, on Place Kléber, the world heritage monument of the Aubette was built mid-18th century to welcome military housing, before becoming a museum in 1869 and finally a leisure complex in 1920. Nowadays, the building is home to a museum and shopping outlets but also an event hall to host gatherings such as the public conference to be held in the late afternoon on 21 October.

- Pavillon Joséphine

In the heart of the Orangerie park, on Avenue de l’Europe, Pavillon Joséphine was inaugurated for Empress Joséphine de Beauharnais in 1804. It is now a particularly popular site with the people of Strasbourg, for its green and rich environment. The Pavillon will house our final dinner reception on 22 October.
