Join us on 13–14 May 2025 in Oslo for the in-person hackathons on "Charging and Energy Infrastructure for the Green Transition in Transport and Construction”.

The Hackathons are organised as part of the Big Buyers Working Together (BBWT) project together with the City of Oslo.

This two-day event brings together members of the BBWT Communities of Practice (CoPs) to collaborate on practical solutions for charging infrastructure in the transport and construction sectors. From high costs and grid limitations to sustainability and smart sharing, we will tackle real-life procurement challenges through hands-on sessions and peer exchange.

What makes this event unique?

At the heart of the workshop is a hackathon-style format, where participants will be grouped into teams and guided by expert facilitators to work on concrete challenges. This collaborative setting allows you to co-create practical, forward-thinking solutions that can be applied in your local context. You’ll leave the event not only with new knowledge and ideas but also with tangible outcomes and action points to take back to your organisation.

What to expect:

  • Hands-on collaboration across three CoPs: Heavy-Duty Electric Vehicles; Zero Emissions Bus Systems & Services; Zero Emissions Construction Sites.
  • Concrete problem-solving in facilitated group sessions.
  • Expert presentations and inspiring best practice cases.
  • Study visits to see charging solutions in action
  • Exchange with peers facing similar challenges.
  • A shared space to align procurement strategies with climate goals.

The challenges
Participants will be divided into teams and will collaborate on a selected challenge. Participants will indicate their preference across four different challenges identified by the experts and will be informed of their assigned challenge a few days before the event.

1. How can we share procurement experiences in charging infrastructure to reduce risks?

2. How can we facilitate higher utilization and sharing of charging infrastructure?

3. How can we incentivize energy-efficient solutions?

4. How can we incentivize flexible solutions, such as mobile charging stations?

More information can be found on the registration page.

Whether you are a procurement professional, innovation officer, or infrastructure expert, this is a unique occasion to connect, learn and shape sustainable solutions together.

Register now and co-create the future of energy infrastructure! Deadline to register: 2 May 2025!
